After losing in the second week of the finals series last season, the Saints look poised to secure the double chance with the highest percentage in the league.

They sit perched on top of the ladder with a 9-2 record after their 16.13 (109) to 8.11 (59) win.

The Saints piled on nine goals to three in the opening half with Josh McCudden, Chris Boulton and co-coach Luke Brauer providing plenty of opportunities for their forwards.

Jarrod Hillary helped himself to five goals for the visitors with the in-form forward having booted at least five goals in six of his eight matches so far this season. 

In a further bonus, ruckman Trent Storey also featured in the Saints best in his second match back after missing five weeks with a broken collarbone. Angus McDiarmid, Toby Ryan and Zac Stuart battled hard for the Bulldogs.

In other matches, Howlong were forced to dig deep to overcome the challenge of a vastly improved Walla. 

The Hoppers led by one point at the final change before James Gray, Troy Price and Blake Williams lifted in the final quarter to ensure the Spiders notched their ninth win of the season and remain in second spot.

Rand-Walburndrie spearhead Josh Warren-Marmo helped himself to 13 goals as the Tigers crushed Culcairn by 135 points. CDHBU enjoyed a 75-point win over Billabong Crows. 

Lockhart proved too strong for Holbrook, winning by 24 points.
