O’Hara and Polo loom as trump cards for the Peter Knights-coached team as it attempts to avenge narrow defeats to their city counterparts in the past two seasons.
“It should be good,” O’Hara said.
“You always want to play as high a standard as you can and I think we will have a pretty strong side.
“While I don’t know a lot about most of the players, training has been good and everyone is looking forward to it.”
O’Hara and Polo will go into the clash in sizzling form after starring for Albury this season.
The Tiger midfielders are among the favourites for the Morris Medal after 12 rounds, with O’Hara kicking eight goals, including five in the final quarter, against Wangaratta at Albury Sportsground on Saturday.
Wangaratta Rovers captain Tyson Hartwig withdrew from the squad following thumb surgery last week.
Colbinabbin spearhead Grant Weeks is coming off a 10-goal bag against Mount Pleasant in the Heathcote District Football League and is expected to play at full-forward.
AFL Victoria has had three training sessions in Melbourne and will finalise its squad when it cuts the list from 26 to 22 players tomorrow night.
The squad is: Brayden O’Hara, Dean Polo (Albury); Will Martiniello (Benalla); James Linton (Colac); Grant Weeks (Colbinabbin); Bob McCallum, Dan Nicholls (Drouin); Lachlan Wallace (Frankston YCW); Jack Geary (Golden Square); Ben Dobson (Koroit); Lucas Anderson (Lake Wendouree); Jeremy Larcombe (Leopold); Sam Gill, Justin Van Unen (Mt Eliza); Robert Condy, Dane McFarlane (Newtown and Chilwell); Guy Hendry (Pines); Rowan Marshall (Seb’pol); Tim Looby (Shepp United); Mark Collison (Traralgon); Chris Giampaolo, Nathan Horbury (Redan); Steven Stroobants (Rochester); Kane Martin (Sale); Scott Dwyer (Wandin); Sam Cowling (W’bool).
