He confirmed this week he had sold the freehold and leasehold of the pub to Chris Moscher for an undisclosed amount.
Mr Conway announced 12 months ago plans to quit the pub by initially offering a 25-year lease deal.
"I have loved business and loved what has been achieved in the time we've had it," he said.
Mr Moscher has been unable to be contacted this week for comment.
He is also the owner of the GJ Gardner Homes franchise in Albury.
It won the group's best up and coming franchise in 2013.
Mr Moscher lives in Thurgoona and played for the Thurgoona Bulldogs in the Tallangatta and District league.
He also had a brief stint with Ovens and Murray league club North Albury.
Mr Conway took over the Kinross in April 2004 with the former shearing shed undergoing a major transformation.
The Kinross has played host to some of Australia's biggest musical names including Jimmy Barnes, Vanessa Amorosi, Joe Cameliri, Diesel, Shannon Noll, The Whitlams plus regular country music performers such as Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey and James Blundell.
Close to $1 million has been spent on capital improvements including a 200-plus outdoor deck area under Mr Conway's ownership.
He has no immediate new business plans, but is the Wodonga Raiders Football-Netball Club president.
