CAMERA CONFUSION
I THINK it's about time that there are red light cameras installed at the five way traffic lights in Lavington.

Almost every day (for the past 10 years) on my way to work I see cars running the red lights.
On Monday evening, three cars came out from Urana Road into Mate Street in front of me as I was heading south, when we had the green light.
Albury City Council, police please do something before there is a serious accident.

CREDIT DUE TO PARKS SERVICE
I HAD occasion to visit several sites in the Murray Regional Park and various sites along the Edwards River recently.
It has been more than a decade since I was last here and I would like to commend the NSW National Park Service and the community for the facilities at these sites.
They are well designed, beautifully constructed and excellently maintained. The staff are obviously doing a good job but equally obvious is that the community also loves and appreciates these sites.
I shall return and spend more time in this beautiful part of the world.

RUBBISH ATTITUDE TO LITTER
IT really sickens me with the disgusting litter I am confronted with while I cycle the roads around Wodonga.
This ever increasing problem is definitely getting out of hand as a large percentage of plastic bottles are being dumped by inconsiderate motorists.
There are very few roadside signs warning offenders of their actions against littering that would incorporate a hefty fine.
The Keep Australia Clean campaign which was most popular a couple of decades ago is now only evident one day a year in March when a whole day is devoted to 'clean Australia'.
It is a pity the effort put into targeting smokers and the 'stop smoking' campaign cannot be partially claimed by Keep Australia Clean.
There is a large amount of cigarette butts found around the area along with the dumping of general rubbish.
Why not introduce legislation for 'Dump your Rubbish in the Bin'?
There is nothing more frustrating than walking through our parklands and playgrounds and seeing rubbish dumped next to the bin.

ICE HELP AVAILABLE
I WAS very disappointed to read in your article on “Ice: One number unites us (page 16, July 18)” that Kay Hull and no-one else at the meeting knows the one number "which will triage you through to the area you need to be at".
The number is 1300 022 760 and obviously not enough people know it.
The number belongs to ACSO - the Australian Community Support Organisation - and they exist to "triage you through to the area you need to be at".
VIsit acso.org.au for more information.
The other universal point of call for drug and alcohol problems is your general practitioner.

STAND UP, SPEAK UP
IN Australia we have freedom of speech and I was under the impression that dictatorship had been dead and buried a long time ago.
I'm very frustrated Tony Abbott will not allow his front bench to appear on Q&A.
Is he scared of what could be revealed?
To the front bench: come on you cowardly front bench. Speak up for yourselves, you don't have to be scared.
