Terry Brown was horrified when he and his wife, Nicole, did a routine boundary fence check of their Springhurst farm on Sunday. Strewn on a dirt road were the carcasses of 18 piglets, ripped from the bellies of three sows slaughtered in the early hours of the morning. “It’s disgraceful, it’s just not right,” Mrs Brown said. A senior policeman said he had never seen such a thing before in a 40-year career. Report: page 4.
