Although the Saints are firmly entrenched in the top-two and took the opportunity to rest several players, the result was a blow for Luke Brauer’s line-up.
“Our last eight weeks have been really good,” Lenon said.
“We had a turnover of players from last year and it probably took us a while to get going.
“Brock-Burrum had some good players missing, but I couldn’t question our commitment and once again we got reward for effort.
“It’s another sign we are heading in the right direction, especially with our reserves and thirds making the finals.”
Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock, who went into the clash without a host of big names including Dean Murphy, Luke Schilg, Nico Sedgwick and Brauer, started well but couldn’t maintain the momentum.
Jeremy and Mitch Sykes, Jess Margosis, John Hoey and Andrew Emery got on top of their opponents in the second quarter.
Lockhart face another huge test against Henty this weekend.
“Henty is travelling really well at the moment so it’s another big game for our blokes,” he said.
In a lop-sided round, Howlong hammered Rand-Walbundrie by 65 points at Rand.
With Josh Dicketts on fire inside 50 metres, the Spiders were rarely threatened as Joel Price and Lucas O'Neill continually peppered the ball forward.
Tim Gray toiled manfully for the home team.
Osborne defeated Holbrook by 81 points at Osborne.
While the Cats would need a minor miracle to replace CDHBU in the top-six, it didn’t stop Jacob McDonnell, Jamie Parr and Hayden Clark from racking up some handy percentage.
Lachie Trethowan and Brett Doswell rallied hard for the Brookers.
Osborne need to crush Billabong Crows in the final round and rely on Rand-Walbundrie upsetting CDHBU to sneak into sixth spot.
Murray Magpies crushed Walla by 158 points at Urana Road Oval.
The Magpies went on a goal-kicking blitz in the opening term with Ash Murray, Nick Mitas and Jesse Johnston terrorising the visitors’ defence.
Murray went on to boot 12 majors to take his tally to 98 for the season.
David Oates, Josh Senior and Shannon Gilson were also prolific while Walla relied too heavily on Nick O'Brien and Jarryd Weeding.
