The 3D version of the animated movie star has been erected outside the Wirraminna Environmental Education Centre to promote Farm Art in the Bush.
In its second year, Farm Art in the Bush features sculptures which are deposited across Wirraminna's terrain.
Co-ordinator Keiran Keenan hopes to exceed 2014's 40 pieces with no limits on what may go on show.
"Last year we had turtles, crocodiles, dunny doors and Tony Abbott in his jocks floating around on the water,” Mr Keenan said.
The minion was chosen over a redback spider for the promotional drawcard.
"A lot of the kids would think a spider is a bit scary and they like a minion," Ahlani Eddy, 14, said.
Mr Keenan said the event had broadened skills with fathers introducing welding and angle grinding to their children as they made metal sculptures such as an airplane.
Farm Art in the Bush is on September 12 and 13.
