Beechworth’s Provenance gained two hats from the judges for the sixth consecutive year.
Terrace Restaurant, part of All Saints Estate, Wahgunyah, and Bright pair Simones Restaurant and Tani Eat & Drink all earned single hats to emulate their achievements last year.
Wodonga restaurant Broadgauge was also recognised with a hat.
Fifteen awards were presented on the night, with Brae, Birregurra, winning regional restaurant of the year.
Regional wine list of the year went to Ten Minutes by Tractor, Main Ridge, an award won by Provenance two years ago.
Melbourne’s Tipo 00 took out best new restaurant; Tani Eat & Drink claimed the regional equivalent in 2013.
The restaurant of the year was Minamishima, Richmond while Red Spice Road, Melbourne, won the people’s choice award.
Now in their 36th year, The Age Good Food Guide awards assess eateries throughout Victoria.
The reviewing process involves as many as four visits to check menus, chefs, service, style and ambience.
