The 24-year-old doesn’t get the same accolades as some of his teammates, but he’s equally as important.
Mitchell was outstanding in Sunday’s grand final win over Lavington, starring in the midfield and up forward as he claimed his fourth premiership.
“First half I was pretty quiet and didn’t have things going how I’d like them to,” he said.
“But I just kept running and tried to keep my workrate up and just worked into the game.
“It was just another beautiful day for the Albury Tigers footy club.”
Mitchell only played seven games for the season, but was up and firing when it mattered.
“I ride horses, go mustering and go working up in Queensland for a few months during the middle of the year.” he said.
“It wasn’t until the second semi that I was actually fit.”
