The man was running a dash camera on September 26 when a car unexpectedly came within a metre of crashing into his vehicle.
The dual cab utility had overtaken a bus on double lines on the Yackandandah-Wodonga Road.
The man filming turned left from Baranduda Boulevard onto the road when the vehicle sped past at high speed.
The utility was travelling next to the bus when it nearly struck the man filming.
Police are appealing for information on the utility.
“It’s not one of the smartest acts I’ve seen,” Sergeant Cameron Roberts said.
“When you turn left, you don’t expect to find someone overtaking on double lines coming straight towards you.
“We’re interested in catching him.
“We’re hoping showing the footage might yield some results.”
