Mrs Yoong was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis eight years ago and will undertake a six week trip along the length of the Murray River with her husband and 12-year-old daughter.
The journey will help raise money for MS research.
For Australians are diagnosed with MS everyday.
The family will leave from Lake Hume on November 1.
