Trials will be held at Benalla tonight from 6.30pm to 8pm and in Wangaratta on Saturday from 9.30am to 3pm.
More trials will be held at Benalla on September 25, 27 and October 2 and 4.
The under-17 boys will be coached by Aaron Westervelt, the under-17 girls by Tony Cigana, the under-15 boys by Jean Claude Giuca, the under-15 girls by Kerry Hammersley, the under-14 boys by Rocky Papalia, the under-13 boys by Atila Kerestes and the under-13 girls by Matt Maiorano.
Jane Webb will be the Rivers head coach.
Players are eligible to represent their zone team based upon their winter club for 2012.
Players in younger age groups will be identified throughout the season for state selection while the under-17 boys will have opportunities to be selected in a youth program to play against A-league teams.
Tuesday training will be split between Albury-Wodonga and Shepparton, while Thursdays will be split between Wangaratta and Benalla.
The season starts on October 21.
Meanwhile, the under-13 girls Victorian Metro, Victorian Country and ACT teams will play a tournament at Wodonga Senior Secondary College on Saturday from 10am.
