Although the zone failed to win a match for the second successive year, Sariman said the series wasn’t all doom and gloom.
“We didn’t get the results we were after but hopefully we have made some good inroads for the future,” Sariman said.
Once we get the processes right we will be able to go to the next level.

“The core players have a lot of ability and I just think it was a step in the right direction.
“It really was a building block.
“Once we get the processes right we will be able to go to the next level.
“We just need another year to gel.
“Hopefully we can top up with a couple of high level players to help us along.”
Riverina coach Owen Thompson said Sariman, Josh Thompson, Zac Simmonds and Nathan Brown were pick of the players over the three days.
After going down to Western by six wickets on Friday, Riverina showed improvement on Saturday against eventual winners, Southern-ACT.
Sariman made 57 in the narrow loss.
Riverina then finished on a disappointing note against Illawarra on Sunday, crashing to be all out for 152.
The visitors chased the runs comfortably with 12 overs and six wickets to spare.
“It was good to get a half-century on Saturday,” Sariman said.
“I was run out in the three games though.
“Riverina had a really good group and it was a shame we couldn’t put it all together.”
Simmonds was close to Riverina’s best bowler with the Belvoir spinner picking up wickets in each match.
He finished with 2-56, 1-42 and 1-34.
Belvoir had five players representing Riverina with Sariman, Simmonds, Drew Cameron, Josh Marmo and Brad Freake being called up.
The Eagles were unable to cover them as they fell well short against Lavington.
“We had a few out but it was good to see some of the younger blokes like Liam Ross and Will Donaghey get a chance,” Sariman said.
“Lavington is a good side and will be even stronger when Ryan Brown gets back.”
In this weekend’s round, Belvoir take on Wodonga, Lavington do battle with Wodonga Raiders, North Albury host Albury, New City take on Tallangatta and St Patrick’s play East Albury.
The CAW ladder is: Belvoir 38.22, St Patrick’s 37.62, Tallangatta 37.61, Wodonga 35.24, Lavington 35.14, Albury 34.22, North Albury 32.78, New City 24.56, East Albury 14, Raiders 13.30.
