The 2015 Cameron Thompson scholarship winner, Mikaela Day attended the event and was honored to receive the award.
“For so many people from the community to join together to support Cameron’s love for journalism is a true testament to his character and successful career,” said Ms Day.
“Receiving a scholarship in Cameron’s name is an honor and an opportunity that is rarely offered to journalism students.”
“The encouragement and support from participating golfers highlighted that I have made the correct career choice.”
“This scholarship will allow for me to go into my final year of studies with the prospect of an exciting career and allow for me to learn and gain invaluable experience from The Border Mail.”
“The scholarship will have a huge influence on my career and I would like to thank everyone involved in the day,” said Ms Day.
