Decker and Lee offers international and Australian fashion labels and a cafe nook that focuses on whole food offerings.

Former Yackandandah woman Katherine Dent opened the Albury store in late June as a shopfront for her online business of the same name.

Having worked for world-renowned online luxury fashion retailer matchesfashion.com in London, Ms Dent returned to Melbourne two years ago when she launched her own online boutique.

“We offer amazing denim, luxury T-shirts and trainers for upgrading and investing in basics at all price points,” she said.

“I’d like to think we’re bringing on-trend and current fashion to the area; we’ve got it as soon as Australia gets it.”

Decker and Lee offers brands such as Frame Denim (Los Angeles), Paige Denim (California), Ryder (Armadale), Maya McQueen shoes (South Yarra), Cali Dreaming swimwear (California) and Cocolux candles.

It will host styling sessions, seasonal previews and fashion workshops in future.

Ms Dent returned to the Border earlier this year and had her first child the week before opening the store.

Her Wodonga-based sister-in-law Steph Chung, who also worked in London and Melbourne, runs the cafe.

She offers a range of allergy-friendly snacks including dairy-free muffins, gluten-free biscuits and brownies, protein bliss balls and granola pots.

“It started off very organic and has grown from there,” Ms Chung said.

“I just eat whole foods … so I’m trying to subscribe to that.”

Ms Chung plans to offer lunchtime vegie boxes with vegan dips and Nord bread and The Bicycle Baker panini in the near future.

Decker and Lee opens 8am until 4pm daily excluding Sundays. It will extend trade to Sundays during December, 10am until 2pm.
