Although the Tigers look set to lose several players in coming weeks, new coach Mitch Exton has landed some telling coups including the signing of key Benalla forward Jordan Wolfe.
We’re pretty stoked. They will all be good for the club.
- Mitch Exton
Wolfe played as a hit-up forward in the Saints’ premiership in the Goulburn Valley Football League this season.
He formed a lethal attack with boom Albury recruit Josh Mellington and Nick Warnock and shapes as one of the finds of the season.
Brothers Sam and Ben Kunkel and Ryan Harper have also crossed from Benalla.
Former Barnawartha players Matt and Dan Ladgrove, Matt McNamara, Jarrod Williams and Peter Cook have returned to the Tigers.
Cook has signed up as assistant-coach after spending last season with Whorouly.
“We’re pretty stoked,” Exton said.
“They will all be good for the club.”
The Tigers missed the Tallangatta and District league finals this year but are one of several teams with legitimate claims of pushing into the top five.
Barnawartha kicked off pre-season training on Wednesday night.
