The ex-Burrumbuttock man has faced Albury Local Court after being arrested for breaching his bail.
And that is that he crossed the Murray River back into NSW.
A bail justice said it was most likely “on the balance of probabilities” that Crome had been invited into the home.
But she said regardless of that, it still was not in Crome’s favour that he crossed the border into NSW while clearly being aware this would breach bail.
He also faced a strong chance of being sent to jail over the charges for which he was on bail.
Crome, who was wearing a singlet for his brief appearance, was remanded in custody to appear by video link from jail on Monday.
Earlier, defence solicitor Dione Garwell said that if granted bail again, Crome could live with his brother in the Melbourne suburb of Albert Park.
He could also report to police in South Melbourne
Police arrested Crome on Wednesday night and charged him with the breach of bail.
Crome had been at liberty on two sets of charges.
He faces counts of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or another drug, not give particulars to police, negligent driving and drive while disqualified over an incident on May 15.
That involved an allegation he crashed into a parked car in Lester Street, Albury, at 8.30pm.
Crome also faces charges of common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The first charge relates to an allegation that Crome hit his partner around the head at her Burrumbuttock home on September 29.
It is claimed the assault took place some time between 8am and 12.34pm.
The more serious second charge relates to an incident at the property on the same day in which he allegedly picked up his partner and threw her to the ground between 6pm and 6.10pm.
Police claim the woman suffered redness, bruising and swelling to her back.
