The Roos had six batsmen score more than 10 runs, but none were able to push beyond 34.
Skipper Andrew Lockett admitted he would have liked more runs but believes Yackandandah is still in the game.
“We would liked a few more but it was a pretty slow outfield,” Lockett said
“We got a few starts, myself included, but didn’t go on with it.
“That has been probably where we have been at for the last year or so.”
Yackandandah youngster Jack Hobbs led the way with 34, while Lockett (29) and Brett Gray (22) also made runs.
The most encouraging sign for the Roos is three of their batsmen – Hobbs, Cameron Evans and Bailey Glass – are 16.
Eskdale’s young pace attack bowled well with Liam and Rory Tobin grabbing six wickets between them.
Lockett said Yackandandah will need to bowl well to win.
“We will try and bowl tight and hopefully put some pressure on them by taking a few wickets early,” he said.
Baranduda is close to first innings points against Howlong.
The Spiders were bundled out for 90 thanks to some fine bowling from Mitch Ryan, Vince Moran, Adam Wallace and Craig Scammell.
Scammell and Ryan picked up four wickets each.
But Baranduda also struggled with the bat and will resume at 6-79 with Rohan Pearce and Moran at the crease.
Dederang should collect outright points against Bethanga at Bethanga.
The home team could only manage 79, with Jake Creamer proving the destroyer with 5-28 off 14 overs.
Dederang immediately went on the attack and will resume at 7-226.
Andrew Creamer and Mark Nichol made 73 and 53 respectively.
Mount Beauty made 190 against Kiewa and Barnawartha-Chiltern is on top of Wodonga.
