About 12 people, some armed with knives, poles and baseball bats, brawled outside two homes in Nicole Crescent about 10.15pm.
Temporary fence footings were thrown at vehicles during the brawl.
The two stabbing victims, aged 44 and 39, were taken to hospital.
It’s believed one was flown to hospital in Melbourne and one was in a critical condition at Albury Hospital.
A 26-year-old Wodonga man was arrested at the scene and will face court on Monday.
Nearby residents said there had been simmering tensions between the neighbours for months.
“It’s just silly,” one woman said.
“It was over nothing.
“They’ve been picking on them for months.
“It’s over arguments that are about nothing.”
The two victims had been at a party at one of the homes.
A woman believed to be the wife of one of the victims was visibly distressed outside the home on Sunday.
Large pools of blood could be seen outside the home and clothing and thongs were covered in blood.
The arrested man has been charged with intentionally causing injury, affray and other offences.
Others involved in the fight were also injured and detectives are investigating.
Forensic officers took samples from blood outside both homes and on a footpath on Sunday.
A nearby resident said a young boy, aged about five, had been knocked over during the fight.
The woman had concerns about the number of nearby children who could have been injured.
“This street is full of kids,” she said.
“There are about 25 kids in this street.”
The residents of both homes were forced to leave the properties as police investigated the incident.
It followed an unrelated stabbing in Peechelba the previous weekend which is still under investigation.
Two people were dropped at Wangaratta Hospital with stab wounds to their chests.
