The awarding-winning cool climate winery won Best Sparkling Wine for its 805 Courabyra 2002 in the 2015 NSW Wine Awards.
The winery also won the award in 2012 and 2013.
Courabyra owner Cathy Gairn said the 2002 late disgorged sparkling wine was served at Government House in Sydney during a function for the gold medal winners in October.
“It was the first time they had the awards at Government House,” Ms Gairn said.
South Australian winemaker Peta Baverstock made the winning sparkling from Courabyra winegrapes.
Brian and Cathy Gairn and and Cathy’s brother Stephen Morrison manage vines under the Courabyra label.
The Gairns established Courabyra Vineyard in 1993 with 1.4ha of pinot noir, expanding with 2ha of pinot noir during 1994 and 1.2ha of pinot meunier and 3.5ha of chardonnay in 1996.
The 805 Courabyra Sparkling Wine 2002 is available from the cellar door or www.courabyrawines.com.
