Hoppers assistant coach Craig Mannagh said the four-day clinic would be about giving players who didn't fit in the elite footballer category the chance to up their game.
“It's true at every club, development breeds success,” he said.
“We're not looking to recruit a bunch of kids out of this, we want to give young players around here opportunities they might not otherwise have.”
Senior coach Jason Akermanis, former North Melbourne player Mark Hilton and long-distance running champion Pat Scammell will headline the program.
Richmond and former North Albury star Anthony Miles is also expected to appear at one of the sessions.
Junior coaches are also welcome at the clinic, which aims to provide young players with a level of elite coaching they may not otherwise enjoy.
Developing kicking proficiency would be at the core of the clinic, Akermanis said.
“If they learn anything from this, it'll be how to kick well,” he said.
“They'll cover plenty of other things that you learn at a higher level that kids might not otherwise get the chance to experience.
“Most wouldn't have as much of an idea of what or how much to eat, when and how to train.
“It's all about leaving them with something they can take back to their clubs and coaches and work on over a longer period of time.
“It's never too late for these skills to be learnt.
"If they listen, they'll pick up some really advanced stuff that will hold them in good stead for the next few years.”
Mannagh said clubs throughout the region stood to benefit from the clinic.
“For those who are a bit unsure about stepping up into a higher level, this is a chance to learn what the expectations and demands of that would be,” he said.
“It'll cover basics across a lot of areas many of the junior and country clubs wouldn't usually do.
“We had the resources here in our backyard, so we decided to put them to use.
“It isn't every day that you have someone like Jason available to do this sort of thing.
“I think there are plenty of players in this area who could go on and do plenty of good things, they just need something extra and this could be what they need.”
Clinics will run from 9am on Sunday mornings at Bunton Park, and are open to players aged 12 to 16.
