An off-duty CFA member found the car alight on McIntoshs Road about 12.35am on Friday.
The white 1990 Ford Falcon was destroyed by the blaze, which police believe was arson.
The car had been dumped on the side of the road against a fence.
Detective Senior Constable Ian Deverell said police were trying to work out where the car had come from.
“At this stage the investigations are early,” he said.
“We’re yet to identify any other offences that may be connected to this vehicle.
“We’re yet to confirm if the vehicle is stolen.”
