After winning the toss and batting, the Pigeons were reeling at 6-86 before brothers Chris (37 not out) and Mark Kreutzberger (32 not out) guided them to 6-161 off their 35 overs.
Brocklesby looked in complete control at 4-148 in reply but the chase fell apart when Mitch Koschitzke was dismissed for 78.
The Roos needed 12 runs off the final two overs but Pigeons bowler Clint Ralston stood up under pressure to take three wickets off eight deliveries to finish with impressive figures of 4-24.
“It got pretty tight there in the end but thankfully we held on,” Pigeons veteran James Kreutzberger said.
“Getting ‘Kosi’ out turned the game.
“Clint bowled really well at the death for us.”
