The first Repair Cafe Albury-Wodonga was held in Wodonga during November while the Inner West Repair Cafe will be launched at the Sustainable Living Festival's Living Future Festival at Yarraville on February 21.
The second Repair Cafe Albury-Wodonga will be held in Wodonga on Saturday, February 20.
Co-ordinator Lizette Salmon said after a positive response to the debut event on the Border there would be extra volunteers with 15 repairers helping out, up from 11 last time.
“Our next session's likely to be even more popular, given it will be on a weekend,” she said.
Ms Salmon said in addition to general repairs, small garden tools such as secateurs could be sharpened at the cafe.
Among the items brought in to the first repair cafe were dresses, pants, backpacks, a kitchen drawer, mop, broken zippers and bikes.
“A bell will ring after every successful repair to publicly celebrate each win,” Ms Salmon said.
The repair cafe, which is a community initiative supported by Halve Waste, was free of charge.
Repair cafes also operate in Sydney and Mullumbimby.
The Repair Cafe Albury-Wodonga will be held at the Wodonga Senior Citizens Centre from 10am until 1pm, then again on Friday, March 18, and Saturday, April 30. For details visit the cafe’s Facebook page.
