Seventh-placed Albury must down the sixth-placed Panthers at Lavington Oval to keep their Provincial finals hopes alive.
Albury hasn’t passed 200 in 2016 having posted scores of 181 against Tallangatta and 102 and 127 against St Patrick’s.
“We’ve had a few low scores over the past few weeks, so surely that can’t keep happening, can it? I reckon we’re better than that,” Brown said.
“Our whole batting line-up has been batting really well in the nets but when it comes to games we just keep finding ways to get out.
“It’s a tricky total but it’s one we should get.
“If you’re going to play finals, these are the scores that you’ve got to chase. It’s pretty rare that you’ll chase 150 in a final.”
Brown, Nick Morris and Alex Popko, who has been cleared of a serious finger injury, will need to do the bulk of the scoring for Albury to win.
“If we can bat the 80 overs we should be right,” he said.
“If we don’t get the runs, it’s just another year and you don’t deserve to play finals.
“We’ve put ourselves in this situation when we probably dropped a few games before Christmas that we thought we might have been a bit of chance in.”
North Albury must chase down Belvoir’s 265 at Bunton Park to solidify its spot in the top six.
Ash Borella will be looking to continue his hot season with the bat and cash in on Eagles bowler Matt Jaensch’s absence.
New City will resume at 0-2 in pursuit of East Albury’s 193 and St Patrick’s needs just 29 runs with nine wickets in hand to secure first innings points against Wodonga Raiders.
