Speech pathology lecturer Chris Plant said he co-ordinated the event for stakeholders and interested public to discuss issues relevant to the Border.
“We’ll send the feedback to Speech Pathology Australia and they’ll use the information to inform the next stage of the project and formulate an actual plan for the next 10 to 15 years,” he said.
Professor of speech and language acquisition Sharynne McLeod said cross-border approaches would be a big topic of discussion.
“Looking at our statistics for the profession, more speech pathologists are working in larger cities,” she told The Border Mail.
“Another topic that will come up is speech pathologists in schools and the real differences in how our states teach our kids.”
The forum will be held at the Blake Lecture Theatre from 5.30pm to 8pm.
