The new entity will wear the charcoal, orange and white colours of Greater Western Sydney, although the design of the jumper has been altered from the AFL club.
Walla and Rand-Walbundrie members voted to merge on March 7 to secure the future of both clubs and provide a platform for juniors in the region to play football and netball.
Hoppers members voted 100 per cent for the joint venture while 83 per cent were in favour at Rand-Walbundrie.
There had been a push from some Rand-Walbundrie members to retain the Tigers mascot but the club’s committee has opted for a fresh start with the Hoppers coming on board.
“We’re excited – it’s something new and fresh,” president Allan Thomas said.
Thomas said the club was hopeful of having the new football and netball uniforms before its season started against Henty at Rand on April 9.
Rand will host the Giants’ opening two matches of the season against the Swampies and then Holbrook on April 23.
Walla will be the venue for the May 7 encounter with Culcairn before Walbundrie hosts June 4, June 18 and July 16 matches against Osborne, Jindera and Howlong.
Football and netball will return to Walla on July 30 against Murray Magpies, followed by a clash against Billabong Crows on August 6 at Rand.
Walla will host the club’s final home and away match of the season against Lockhart on August 20.
Former Lavington forward Myles Aalbers will coach the Giants in their inaugural season with Walla’s Luke Kohlhagen to be one of his assistants.
Rand-Walbundrie finished ninth and Walla 11th last season with officials hoping improved depth will lift the Giants up the table.
