Eady landed awkwardly in the Lions’ impressive opening round win against Lockhart.
The setback comes after he was sidelined for eight weeks with a broken finger last season.
“It’s always disappointing, but the good thing is that I can keep running and stay fit,” Eady said.
“I’ll try and get back around the inter-league or very close to it.
Eady was one of Culcairn’s stars in its opening round victory and will be sorely be missed against rivals Holbrook at Holbrook on Saturday.
But unlike last season, the Lions have more midfield options with the Hallinans and Jye Shields adding depth.
Culcairn coach Brendan Way is expecting a torrid reception.
“It’s a massive game for us,” Way said.
“I don’t think we have beaten Holbrook in my time at Culcairn which is three or four years.
“They are our biggest rivals.
“Holbrook will be ready to play, it’s a bit like when Wodonga and Wodonga Raiders meet.
“We are one game into the season and both of us and coming from a long way back.
“We’re expecting as tough a game as we’ll ever get.
“That’s always the case.”
Holbrook were brave in going down to Billabong Crows, with Josh Jones heading a workmanlike midfield.
If Jones, Will Holmes, Jacob Curran and Lachie Trethowan can break even, Brooker forwards Josh Warren and John Spencer will be a handful for the Culcairn defence.
Henty and Lockhart will be desperate for points when they meet at Henty.
Both have had disappointing starts to the season with the Swampies surprisingly big losers against Rand-Walbundrie-Walla last weekend.
They will be sweating on the availability of Shannon Terlich, Michael Aitchison, Heath Ohlin and Hayden Singe who missed the opening round.
Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock will belatedly unfurl its premiership flag against Osborne at Brocklesby.
The Saints looked ominous in dismantling Lockhart last weekend with the multi-pronged attack of Jarrod Hillary, Kylin Morey, Nick Brockley and Tyson Bradsworth in fine form.
While Osborne may be able to hold one or two of the forwards, all four looks a stretch.
