Cross will make his second appearance for the Tigers against Myrtleford on Saturday and no one will be happier to see the sun shining in Albury than the 249-game AFL veteran.
He will then run 10-15km on Sunday when Melbourne plays Collingwood at the MCG.
“It was a quick turn around being a night game against Lavington and then the 1pm game the next day against GWS,” the 33-year-old said.
“I didn’t move too far from the couch on the Sunday.”
Cross said it was a “pretty proud moment” to pull the Tigers’ jumper on for the first time at senior level.
“Coming back up to play was something I really wanted to do,” he said.
“I certainly don’t want to be the star of the side, I just want to fit in.”
Cross joins former AFL players Dean Polo, Setanta and Aisake O’hAilpin in returning to the Tigers’ side.
