Chiltern Tourism and Development president Kevin Mayhew said the festival’s aim was to underline the work done by the trust in protecting historically significant buildings in Victoria.
“The National Trust is charged with saving buildings of significance in communities,” he said. “Also to ensure that these are kept in perpetuity for future generations to be able to look at and learn from.”
Chiltern boasts three buildings owned by the trust: Dow’s Pharmacy, the former home of internationally renowned author Henry Handel Richardson, and the hot metal printing press of the Federal Standard newspaper.
