The Wodonga teenager, who turns 16 next week, qualified as a bottom age player and is likely to line up at half-forward at the national carnival in May.
Though she had a few nerves, Harvey said it was a privilege to represent her state.
“I’m very excited, it’s been long and hard process to make the team,” she said.
“There’s a lot of talent in the area, so to make the team at my age is amazing.
“I’m a bit nervous as one of the younger players in the side, but it’s exciting to get the opportunity to play.”
Harvey’s skill at ground level and by foot was integral to her selection in the side.
“The coaches have given me a lot of feedback, they’ve said my work ethic and running ability is good,” she said.
“My strengths are my kicking efficiency, getting the ball off the ground and hitting a target.”
The National Championships start on May 2.
