This will come as a surprise to senator Penny Wong who predicted absolute gloom and doom should Barnaby take the reigns in the Nationals, Penny Wong was wrong; and Barnaby’s handling of the press was a delight, however he did have them in unfamiliar territory on his own turf in the bush where he cleverly ran the country from.
This he probably did, God forbid, without fast broadband provided by the oh so important NBN.
One reporter asked him what did he think about a certain subject to which Barnaby replied that he never stopped thinking.
Brilliant.
The unfortunate lady presumably returned to her chief of staff empty handed.
Head count
IT seems Australia may have remounted the sheep’s back with news that instead of an estimated 41 million ewes there now may be 43 million ewes.
How could the forecaster get it so wrong?
Or is it a case of farmers telling “porkies”?
Dinkum farmers have always been loathe to skite about property area or numbers of stock which for instance makes the job of rural journalists difficult.
It is not hard to realize when asked about stock numbers caution would be erred on lower numbers.
Many farmers are reticent to provide a true picture due to the fear of being watched by a big brother somewhere.
What next
ADULT bookshops, adult movies; but the mind bends with reports that we are exporting adult milk powder to China.
The terminology has probably been used by our largest dairy exporter to differentiate away from baby formula however surely milk powder is just that.
Who pays
ELDERS are to re-enter the insurance market for the obvious reason it sees insurance as a growth profit market.
Who provides the profits?
Well obviously the policy holders.
If Elders can see a way to provide a wide range of insurances that force premiums down in a competitive market that would be great.
