A MOTORBIKE rider ran a red light and reached speeds up to 200km/h at the weekend in a bid to taunt police.

Albury LAC also attended two accidents during the state-wide operation Go Slow.
The “reckless” rider pulled up behind a police car at the intersection of Wagga and Kaitlers roads about 1.55am Saturday.
He rode around the vehicle, through a red light, onto Thurgoona Drive where he turned south onto a northbound freeway entrance.
Police decided not to engage in any pursuit because that’s what he was deliberately trying to do.

The bike did laps up and down the freeway at speeds between 150km to 200km/h.
Albury Inspector Ian Newman said police did not pursue for safety reasons.
“Police decided not to engage in any pursuit because that’s what he was deliberately trying to do,” he said.
“That behaviour is totally reckless and irresponsible, he was not only putting his life in danger but other people who are using the road too.”
Police are seeking information on the rider of the blue and black Yamaha R1 motorcycle.
Later at 10.35am Saturday, a red Mitsubishi Triton rolled northbound on the Hume Freeway near Table Top.
A 33-year-old father was driving with his wife and three daughters were in the car.
Inspector Newman said the driver had attempted to adjust a sun visor when he went off the road, over corrected and rolled the vehicle.
He said they were “lucky” to all escape with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a B-double truck carrying paper and cardboard caught fire at 6pm southbound on the Hume Freeway near Mullengandra.
The Bendigo man, 57, who was driving escaped unharmed.
South of the Border, Wodonga police had a good run with driver behaviour.
Highway Patrol Sergeant Cameron Roberts said they were out in force for Operation Tribute, but had no major incidents.
