Australian Submarines
NOW the federal government has decided who will build submarines for Australia, might our Prime Minister explain to us, in addition to bringing capital and jobs to South Australia, what further use these submarines will be to us, once completed?

Are we planning covert deployment of our SAS, from subs, into Southeast Asia? Do our submarines come with a manufacturer's guarantee that they are immune to any new under-water-spotting-technologies, causing global submarine redundancy?
If not, will our contract with the French Government provide a refund should this risk eventuated? If so, what court will arbitrate or determine, a French government’s resistance to handing back our $50 billion?
Alternatively, are the Prime Minister and cabinet so confident their investment of our money in new submarines will not prove to be another 'unforeseeable' gigantic and uneatable lemon, that each individual member of cabinet will offer to put up her or his parliamentary superannuation entitlements, as a security returnable to the Australian people, of this $50 billion investment of all our money, is judged a ‘stuff up’ by a future federal government?
Given the bipartisan approach by both our government and their opposition to investment – in principle - of our $50 billion of course, these questions are ones for both sides of politics. On these and many other issues, Australia needs an independent voice, outlooks not framed by the decay of institutional politics. I am willing to stand for Farrer at the coming election if 100 local voters ‘sign me on’.

Veterans leading the way
SO pleased the Vietnam Veterans are welcomed and get to lead the Anzac Parades.
Looking at the news clips of the original protesters against these fine men and women I wonder where they are now and to what mediocrity they have sunken to? Perhaps they are the ones who want the new version of a carbon tax, open slather on illegal immigration.

Other candidates for Indi
I HAD the dubious pleasure of attending the candidates “bun fight” or the otherwise “Paul Murray Live” at the Pinsent Hotel, Wangaratta last Thursday night.
I have been a Liberal Party Activist for over 40 years from branch and electorate chairman to central committees to being electorate campaign manager at numerous state and federal elections. I hasten to add this was in my past life and not supporting the Indi Liberal. Last Thursday night was an absolute eye opener as to the performance of what some may have called the two central candidates.
Liberal Mirabella was aggressive and has (according to various media) left her honesty and integrity in doubt. She showed no qualities to promote her position as the member for Indi.
On the other hand, Cathy McGowan had no drive, could not combat the Mirabella aggression, failed to state her view on the Benalla incident and was clearly considered an under-achiever during her time as an MP. We are thus left with a decision that few thought would happen, forget these two bad-performers and look for the best representation for Indi.
The system leaves us with only the one candidate who could garner enough votes at the election which is the coalition partner, The Nationals Marty Corboy. We now need to ask the media to concentrate on Corboy and tells us all about his background, experience and qualities to be the next member for Indi.
