The veteran defender will line up in the blue and white for the 300th time on Saturday afternoon, and said it was the club’s supporters who made him want to front up week in, week out.
“There’s a bit of hometown pride there, they’ve been a good club for a long time,” Steed said.
“We’re a well supported club, they’ve been with us through thick and thin.
“It feels like home.”
Steed said he was unlikely to try and sneak forward and snag a goal in his milestone match, preferring to stay put in defence.
“I don’t think I’ll be pushing forward, I haven’t gone too well in front of goal in the past,” he said.
“I haven’t got too much in the way of achievements, I’ve played most of my footy in the backline and that’s where I’ll stay.
“I’ve played half my footy in the seniors and the rest in reserves, I probably played a lot more senior footy than I should have.”
