The North American folk songstress wraps up her Australian tour before returning to her home in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a performance at Tanswells Hotel in Beechworth from 8pm Saturday.
"It all came together very last minute," she said.
"We played a gig in Sydney and the woman who set up the tour was chatting to a musician from Beechworth, and he mentioned this venue," she said.
"Most gigs you have to book a few months in advance if you’re going to make it happen.
"Usually if one of these are being talked about there is a part of me that doesn’t really believe it is going to work out so I was pretty excited when this one did."
Sproule was born in Canada and has spent her life surrounded by music. She has recorded six albums, appeared on international television and toured North America, Europe, Australia and Africa.
Her style of music is a fusion of folk, country and jazz.
She was raised by musical parents and is married to a fellow musician and singer-songwriter, Paul Curreri.
Returning to Australia for her second time, Sproule is six-months pregnant and has been enjoying having food on the brain.
"I was playing a game with the people that I’m staying with where you try and name a dessert with each letter of the alphabet," she said.
"We couldn't find one for K or O. I guess Kitkat works but I don't know if that one really counts.
"I’m having a great time eating lots and lots of food and it's so good over here.
On the final leg of her tour, Sproule admits she has had many new experiences on this trip but is also looking forward to going home.
"It’s been an adventure, it’s been really fun," she said.
"My body is exhausted just from going on six-months pregnant and a little bit between the jet-lag and the back ache and stuff.
"It’s girl baby and I’ve also just started to feel her moving for the first time for the last couple of weeks since I’ve been in Australia.
"So I will always remember this tour very fondly and I think she’s lucky to have done some gestating over here.
"It been a lot of friendly people, good vibes and good food."
