Craig Rowe and his partner of 18 years, Kellie-Anne McKenny, have been in custody since their arrest over the incident last August.
Each pleaded guilty this week to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, plus other charges.
Rowe punched one victim in the head, they got into a wrestle and then McKenny hit the man over the head with a slow cooker.
Rowe fronted Albury Local Court first, via a video link to Junee jail, with McKenny soon after in the court dock.
McKenny was jailed for 13 months, with a non-parole period of four.
She also got a one-month sentence on a separate charge of larceny, allowing for her immediate release.
Magistrate Tony Murray earlier sentenced Rowe to 16 months’ jail, with a non-parole period of six months.
He then asked Rowe if he understood what had just happened.
“I think you said I’ll be released today,” a stunned but delighted Rowe replied.
Police facts put before the court told of how one of the victims, a Geelong man, and his partner had been staying at the Albury home of a friend for a couple of weeks.
Three days before the assault, on August 18, the pair were at a house across the road from Rowe and McKenny’s home in Resolution Street, North Albury.
But they had to attend the defendants’ house to use a nappy change table.
It was after they left that Rowe and McKenny couldn’t find her gold bangle.
The pair went to the house on August 18 at 7am, Rowe yelling: “(She) has Kellie’s bangle. We want it back.”
They returned at 9.15am and were allowed into the house, with Rowe immediately demanding the bangle’s return before punching the victim in the face.
McKenny hit the victim with a metal bastard file as the two men began wrestling, then struck the back of his head with the slow cooker.
The other assault on June 15 was over a $150 debt, with the victim pushed into an Albury medical clinic door before Rowe punched him twice.
McKenny then stole a bike.
