The Hawks stormed home with a six-goal-to-one final quarter to beat Wangaratta last Sunday and could move two games clear inside the top five if they defeat the Roos and other results fall their way.
While Corowa-Rutherglen is yet to win a match this season, Rovers co-coach Sam Carpenter said his former club had been competitive in most matches and deserved respect.
“It’s a really important game for us,” he said.
“After a good win last week, we’ve got to make sure we come with the right mind-set to take on Corowa-Rutherglen.
“They’ve played some good footy this year and will be super hungry for a win.
“They’ve kicked seven goals in a quarter a couple of times and Albury didn’t beat them by a heap.”
