Adelaide United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic is adamant his side won't suffer from grand final nerves in front of more than 50,000 fans at Adelaide Oval on Sunday - saying they've been playing in do-or-die clashes all season.

The Reds were winless after eight games but an extraordinary run of victories saw them surge up the table, ultimately claiming the Premiers' Plate in the final round of the season.

But when asked if winning the FFA Cup in 2014 would help calm team nerves on Sunday, Galekovic said his side was already used to playing each week as if their season depended on it.

"Every big game helps but I think what's helped us this year is probably the last three months have been like a grand final," he said after training at Hindmarsh Stadium on Saturday. "We've had to win every game to be where we are right now. We've played one game at a time – every game we had to win or wanted to win.

"And this is no different. It's the last game of the season. We've prepared well, just like all the other games. And we're going in with a lot of momentum."

The veteran goalkeeper - who has played more games for his club than anyone else - said he'd never seen anything like the excitment that's gripped Adelaide this past week.

"Every street you walk down, people are wishing you luck and everyone is jumping on, which is a good sign," he said. "To have 50,000 there tomorrow shows just how strong this code is in this state and how passionate they'll be tomorrow is really exciting.​

Adelaide coach Guillermo Amor said he was fully aware that the Wanderers would present an enormous challenge, particularly because of their energetic style of play.

"Tomorrow is a tough game, against a very good team and this season, they were fantastic," he said. "Western Sydney Wanderers is a [strong performer] all season. So it's a big game against a team that we know will run and run and press. It will be a very difficult game. For us, we must all do all the things very well.

"Normally, with these games, you have to imagine, be calm, [have] a big personality and character. In the finals, and big games, it's important to use your head."

Galekovic brushed aside comments from Wanderers striker Brendon Santalab, who observed that his ex-teammate Iacopo La Rocca was unhappy about playing in defence, rather than midfield.

"I think he's loving life back there," he said. "He's been great for us defensively. I just think it's someone trying to stir someone else up. [It's not working] at all."

He also said that Adelaide striker Bruce Djite would be passed fit despite not participating fully in every session due to a groin complaint.

"Bruce is ready and I think everyone is fit," Galekovic said. "We trained today, our last training session, but everyone is training and everyone is fit and ready to go."

Both the Wanderers and the Reds are winless from their two grand final appearances but Galekovic said there were no hang-ups from his teammates about the past.

"It's totally different. I'm probably the only one still around from that [last] grand final [in 2009]. The last one I was involved in, against Victory, they went in as favourites playing in Melbourne," he said. "Now we play at Adelaide Oval in front of our fans it's a totally different ball game. We're embracing it. There's a lot of stuff going on this week as the coach said but we have to embrace it to make sure mentally we are ready for the whistle to go. We'll be coming out guns blazing."
