An estimated 12,965 homes and businesses across Indi in areas including Kancoona, Rosewhite, Mudgegonga and the Buckland Valley, which are outside of the NBN fixed line and fixed wireless coverage areas
The satellite service offers download speeds of up to 25 megabits per second and upload speeds of up to five megabits per second once a receiver dish and indoor modem are professionally installed.
Indi MP Cathy McGowan said: “I am pleased that many households in Indi will have access to more than five times the download speeds on the new satellite”.
Liberal Indi candidate Sophie Mirabella said: “Many homes and businesses in our more remote areas are still dependent on very basic internet access, including tourist areas which rely on eftpos and online services and email for their business”.
