After a review of the award, a finalist will be announced each month from May until early next year.
“The award is targeted at young athletes aged 16 to 21 years achieving in sport in our local area and each year we continue to see a high quality of local athletes achieving in their chosen sport,” chairman Rob McDonald said.
The award night will be held on March 3 at Albury’s Commercial Club.
Norske Skog has committed as naming rights sponsor for another two years.
Previous winners of the award include Emma George, Lauren Jackson, Tim Lowndes, Scott Martin, Catherine Humphrey, Rebekah Keat and Britteny Cox.
Mulwala shooter James Willett took out this year’s award and will compete in the Rio Olympics.
