A national park is for Australian wildlife, flora and fauna. Why have people stopped loving our wildlife as much as feral animals? So this could be a win-win situation for both brumbies and wildlife. Every year the great Australian round-up with all horse and animal lovers, head off to the high plains to round up the brumbies, and then sold at auction to horse lovers, they can own part of Australian folklore and history to own your own brumby, thus saving their lives.
The Man From Snowy River Festival has grown in leaps and bounds and so could the great Australian round-up. A great example of this is in England with the New Forest ponies that are rounded up every year and sold, to stop the overpopulation in the New Forest. I really believe this could be great for all parties and a great tourism attraction every year. Never miss an opportunity, please don't shoot the brumbies but please also respect what a national park is for our wild life flora and fauna.
I myself would love to own a painted brumby, and I'm sure thousands of others would as well. This is a great opportunity so please all parties work together for our wild life and the brumby it can be done together you can do it.

Thanks from Nail Can
ON behalf of all members of the Rotary Club of Albury West, we extend a big thank you to everyone who was involved in the running of the 40th Nail Can Hill Run at the weekend.
The event has grown significantly since the first run in 1977 organised by the Albury Wodonga Orienteering Club when 98 participants took part.
This year there were 1538 participants who ran, jogged or walked around either the 11.3km or 4.3km courses. So to the winners and all participants young and not so young, our generous sponsors, beneficiaries and volunteers who all combined in one mighty effort, we offer a hearty well done.
Together we have raised significant funds for distribution to worthy organisations that provide a helping hand to others in our local community.
JAMES BROWN,
Race Director Nail Can Hill Run
Thousands of visitors
B Scott-Young’s letter (April 27) says that council can’t find a million dollars for CCTV to improve public safety but can find $10 million for an arts centre that “virtually no one uses.”
Can I assure B Scott-Young that soon CCTV will be deployed in parts of the CBD but I must take issue with his statement about the arts centre we know as MAMA.
There have been over 65,000 visitors since the facility opened in mid October. If 65,000 people turned up to a football match at the MCG would you say there was virtually no one there? People may not like MAMA but let’s not deny the facts.
DAVID THURLEY,

Valuables left in car
I THINK all of us, not just North Albury residents, need to take our values out of the car overnight.
They should be with us at all times, just like our morals and ethics. Our valuables should not be left in the car at any time.
