Turner came from the field during the first quarter of Kangaroos win over the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.
It's the second such injury Turner has suffered this season, after the former Wodonga Bulldogs and Murray Bushrangers speedster copped a similar hamstring strain during North's pre-season match against St Kilda in Wangaratta.
Kangaroos football director Geoff Walsh told the AFL website that scans had confirmed damage to Turner's hamstring tendon.
“Unfortunately for Kayne and the club, the injury will keep him on the sidelines for about four weeks,” he said.
“We're confident he'll be able to make a solid impact when he returns in the second half of the season.”
Friday night was Turner's second game for the season.
