Corey Murray pleaded guilty in Albury Local Court this week to a single count of affray.
That came after police withdrew a second charge of assault that had been levied against the 20-year-old.
Magistrate Tony Murray was told in facts put to the court how police did a walk-through of Beer Deluxe at the New Albury Hotel on December 13 about 2.10am.
Murray was in the hotel’s beer garden with his co-offender and several others.
Police said a security guard then asked Murray to leave the hotel “because of his high level of intoxication”.
Again, Murray’s co-offender was with him at the time.
Police said the pair “reluctantly” began to leave the pub, though then began to argue with security and others as they walked out.
Murray and the other man eventually left by a side door, followed by security staff and plain clothes police.
But the other man then threw the contents of his drink at them, leading to security having to physically move him away.
Murray then walked towards the guards and threw a punch but he failed to strike anyone.
His co-offender then tried to throw several punches at the guards, again without success.
Murray ran back into the area and got involved in an altercation with security.
Soon after he ran to an open gateway and collided with one of the plain clothes police, the pair both falling to the ground with the impact.
Murray’s solicitor, Joy Kirby, informed Mr Murray that the co-accused had already been dealt with by the court.
A pre-sentence report was ordered for Murray, who must front Albury Local Court again on June 7.
