Savoys star Steph Evans said the club hadn’t defeated City in the five years that she had played there – something she hoped to rectify.
“We’ve had a couple of games where we’ve come really close and put in a good performance they’ve been able to turn around and blow us out of the water,” she said.
“We just can’t seem to get over the line against them.”
Bouyed by a positive performance from her side in last week’s 1-0 loss to Cobram, Evans said the Savoys were ready to build their season.
“We’re really confident heading into this game, despite coming off the back of a few losses,” she said.
“We’ve had a little bit of a slow start.
“We’ve welcomed a few new players into the fold this season, so we’re kind of working through the team.
“Hopefully we work that out and have a good game.”
