Murray Heritage Motorists will put on an event which will put vehicles from across the region in the spotlight next Sunday.
Cars 25-years or older will roll into Gateway Lakes for the National Motoring Heritage Day from noon.
The public has been invited to explore the range of vehicles for a gold coin donation.
Club secretary Tilo Schmidt said Lavington Lions Club would cater the family-friendly day with a barbecue lunch.
“This event will show off motoring heritage in our area,” he said.
“There will be a big variety because it isn't confined to a certain brand.
“Every year all over Australia, this is the day where people get their old cars out and celebrate.
“We've invited 11 clubs to Wodonga including some classic motorcycles.
“This will be our first time hosting the event and next year the Antique Car Club of Albury-Wodonga will host it for its 50th anniversary.”
About 200 vehicles from places including Wangaratta, Yarrawonga, Corowa, Jindera and the twin cities are expected to be on display.
The national day was established in 2008 by the Victorian Federation of Veteran Vintage and Classic Vehicle Club.
Club member Doug Seacombe said he would showcase his 1974 Ford XB Fairmont at the event.
He bought the car 42 years ago for about $4800.
“I bought it brand new and now it's done about 180,000 miles,” he said.
“I've always loved it and tried to keep it in good condition.
“There aren't many Fords of this type remaining with the original vinyl roof.”
One of the club's founding members John Adams is expected to show a car which will feature at the event.
He said he bought his 1937 Riley Kestral from Nowra about three years ago.
“I've been interested in cars all my life,” he said.
Greg Oates said his car was a copy of one he “let go” 20 years ago.
“I've got a ‘78 Triumph Stag with a three-litre V8 original engine,” he said.
“It's a manual, so it's more fun.
“I used to visit my uncles servo and car dealership in Chiltern when I was on holidays as a kid.
“That's where I became interested in cars.”
