The Panthers have suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of Myrtleford and Wodonga and Roos coach Terry Burgess is expecting them to “stamp their authority” on Saturday’s contest at Lavington.
Full-forward Adam Prior returns from a two-week suspension in a much-needed boost for Lavington.
The Roos will welcome back James Svarc from a rib injury after the lively forward was sorely missed in their narrow loss to Wangaratta Rovers in round six.
“We were really competitive last week and, with an ounce of luck, we might have got across the line,” Burgess said.
“This week’s a bit different – we come up against a team that’s been perennial finalists and we expect that they’ll be very hard to beat on their home deck.
“They will want to stamp their authority on the game.”
