Selectors will make a decision at training on Wednesday night whether to replace “a like for a like” in the wake of injuries to several key players.
The biggest concern is key forwards with Yarrawonga’s Brad O’Connor and Wangaratta’s Michael Newton dropping out of the squad due to injury.
A key forward and back are something that could come into the equation.

Albury’s Josh Mellington, who kicked his 50th goal on Saturday and attended inter-league training last week, is set to lead the attack.
Lavington spearhead Adam Prior would be the obvious inclusion but his availability remains clouded after last year’s inter-league fiasco.
“We will have our second training run on Wednesday night and there is a big chance we will be adding to the squad,” co-coach Darrell Spencer said.
“A key forward and back are something that could come into the equation.
“We will have a good look at how we are shaping up with injuries and unavailability and take it from there.
“We’re really happy with the quality we have in the our squad and it could just be a matter of fine tuning.”
Wodonga Raiders forward Adam Flagg returned from injury at the weekend and shapes as a potential partner in attack with Mellington.
Spencer said it was pleasing to see several young players pressing for selection.
“We’re excited with the high-end quality like Daniel Cross, Brayden O’Hara and Joel Mackie and also the emerging talent like Christian Burgess and Shaun Mannagh,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time to blood some new ones while having some experienced guys among them.”
The league will train at W.J. Findlay Oval on Wednesday.
