Up to 30 scholarships are available nationally in 2017.
NSW Nuffield chairman David Gooden, himself a Nuffield Scholar of 2010, said the state’s agricultural industries had benefited from strong participation.
“We are particularly keen to identify applicants in the rice growing industry as we have two scholarships available to rice growers this year,” he said.
“There are also opportunities for dairy, wool, livestock, pork, horticulture, egg and chicken meat producers to apply, so with a scholarship in almost every industry I really encourage people to get on board.”
Nuffield Australia allows primary producers aged between 28 and 40 to travel the globe investigating a research topic. Scholars are provided with a $30,000 bursary to embark on a 16-week program of travel.
Applications close June 30.
