IN two months, Flying Fruit Fly graduate Amie Patching is leaving the nest to join four of her fellow classmates at the National Circus school in Canada.

Ms Patching and Sandy Tugwood were accepted into the prestigious school this year after beating hundreds of hopefuls after a long audition process in Montreal.
“There are 28 students in the program per year and only four spots are offered to foreign students,” Ms Patching said.
“I'm really proud that we are all over there.”
Ms Patching and Ms Tugwood will join Fruit Fly alumni Jarrod Takle, Ruben Ingwerson and Nathan Jones who are in their second and third years at the school.
Master trainer Loic Marques said it was a big achievement for the students and the school.
“Montreal's National Circus School is the most prestigious for Westerners in the circus industry,” he said.
“Past students have all ended up in great companies, Cirque de Soleil, Seven Fingers, really famous companies and are really active in the industry.”
